I am interested in people’s stories – who they are and what they think. And, in my world, people are usually a little quirky, funny and hopeful. I see their optimism in bright colors and simple shapes. You can’t believe what I’ve learned from these folks. They say the most unexpected things, yet it seems to make sense, to nail the moment into place.

I’ll admit, with a background as a reporter, I’m just a little bit nosy. I enjoy listening in on a good – or even dull – conversation. People just crack me up, myself included. The young, old and in-between all have special insights into this crazy world we occupy.

I’m not laughing and happy all the time, but art and writing do bring me a lot of joy. I hope these simple, fun characters I call flutterbies will bring a dose of sunshine to your corner.
