Each item in the production line began life as an 20' stick of carbon steel. Each cut, bend and weld were made using little more than you would find in your neighbors garage. I choose to keep the fabrication process simple to maintain the individuality of each piece. Once the fabrication is completed, the iron is then sanded and polished to achieve a contrast within the design. Finally, the item is sent through a Powder Coating process that is the most durable finish I can apply.
I started the Iron Chinchilla in 2001 to offer up an option to the cookie cutter approach to design. My designs are top quality, handmade items that are easily and often mistaken for works of art...without the out of this world price tag. By "bending" the rules on how chairs, bookcases, wine racks and benches are designed...I hope you will find that furniture can be FUN again!!!
