Her parents championed her artistic drive and supplied her with an ample supply of conte, crayons, paper, paint, and even clay. Eston's mother drove her to countless lessons and sat patiently in the car. Her mother laments that she attended more than her fair share of school art shows. Eston sold her first work in high school and the pattern continued in college at Atlanta College of Art, now acquired by Savannah College of Art and Design.
She is a Cherokee Rose Writing fellow and holds a Master's degree in Reading and a Specialist degree in Special Education. She has also attended Columbia Theological Seminary.
She makes her home with her partner of nine years, Tamra, her son Prosper, Olive the cat, assorted turtles, a few dust bunnies, wayward spiders, and no birds.
